Dear People Whom God Loves,
...letters from the church bulletin.
| January
10, 2010 Dear People Whom God Loves, SPECIAL INVITATION Have you
been hurt by bishops, priests, deacons, sisters, brothers or anyone
else in a leadership position in the church? Have you
hurt others in the church or not in the church? Have you
been hurt in any way by others or hurt others in any way? When we think of abuse by church people, we naturally think of the sexual abuse by some priests and the cover-up by some bishops. Abuse however can come in other less obvious forms. It might be verbal abuse or emotional abuse. It could be rejection or being told that we were bad or unworthy. It could be by misuse of power. It could be by neglect. Perhaps we have been made a scapegoat.
The
ritual will be useful and will take about 35 minutes. It will include
music, scripture, and quiet prayer. It will start at 7:00 p.m. in the
church on the following dates: We are
all both wounded and wounders
I as much as anyone else. Everyone
is welcome.
