Ministries at Church of Saint Stanislauus This is a partial listing of opportunities for fellowship and ministry. Volunteers are always needed. For any volunteer who regularly interacts with minors or vulnerable adults, a background check may be needed.
An open invitation for you to participate in parish activities and groups, find fellowship, build community, and minister to others.

AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)
The AA Men’s Group meets on Monday nights at 6:00pm in the Church basement.
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir sings the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month (September through May) as well as various other Feasts and special services. Rehearsals are on the Wednesday evening preceding those Sundays. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled during weeks leading up to Christmas and Easter.

Al-Anon
Al-Anon is a support group for people who have been affected by someone else’s drinking or substance abuse. Al-Anon meets Mondays from 11:30am-12:30pm in person in the church hall and online.
Caramel Roll Sundays
Caramel Roll Sunday is held on the second Sunday of the month from October through May. Caramel rolls are served after the 8:00 am and 10:00am Masses in the church hall. Teams of volunteers set up on Saturday, bake the rolls Sunday, and serve from 8:00am – 12:00 pm (two shifts). More volunteers are welcomed.

Centering Prayer
Grow your relationship with God. Sessions are held Thursdays, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the Parish Center Library.

Community Outreach

Fall Festival
Our fall festival is our biggest fundraiser for the church. It is a fun day with a wonderful turkey dinner and games for adults and children. Volunteers are needed in all areas the day of the event: games, auction, bingo, dining room, kitchen, variety booth, white elephant sale, and jar bar. We are always open to new ideas and faces. Planning for the event begins months in advance.

Funeral Choir
Resurrection Choir. Join us to sing at funerals. No practice, come when you can, no commitment! We sing familiar songs.

Funeral Lunches
Funeral luncheons are held in the Parish Hall. Volunteers set up the hall and tables, assist in laying out food provided by family, or caterers, and clean up afterwards. Three to four volunteers are needed for up to six hours per luncheon.

Homebound Ministry
Volunteers bring Holy Communion to members who are homebound, hospitalized, or in nursing homes. Volunteers serve in their preferred area and the times are set depending on the need.

Knitting and Crochet Group
Help others stay warm this winter. This group meets in the parish center one Saturday a month. Call or email Carolyn for dates. This group makes mittens, hats, baby blankets, etc. for the Christmas Giving Tree and other charitable organizations. Come when you can. Yarn provided or bring your own.

Loaves and Fishes
Volunteers from St. Stan’s join with other area church volunteers to provide meals on an every-other-month basis at St. Matthew’s Church on the West Side.

Parish Library
Volunteers maintain and promote the use of the library which is located in the Parish Center. The library has many classic and contemporary books on spirituality, Catholicism, aging, parenting, prayer, and much more.

Religious Education for Youth
Religious education programs (Sunday School, Reconciliation, Preparation for First Communion) are offered at 9:00am Sundays during the school year months for preschoolers through sixth grade. Registration occurs in early September. Youth and adult volunteers are needed as teachers and helpers.

Women’s Spirituality Groups
This is a group of women seeking spiritual growth in a group setting. Members meet once a week in small groups from September through May on Tuesdays from 5:00pm – 6:30pm or on Thursday mornings from 9:30am – 11am (Summer hours decided on by group). The two groups merge for outings (retreats, movies, dinner, and other events).
