ABORTION IMMIGRATION
Abortion and immigration are two issues which seriously divide our country. Perhaps there is no perfect solution that the whole county can embrace. In politics, we are often left to do what is possible.
We need to state our positions honestly and firmly. We also need to listen to the positions from the other side. When we do this, we will more likely reach a better national solution. It may not be perfect, but it will produce more good than accomplishing nothing.
Morality and law are not the same. Some things that we judge to be morally wrong are properly put into law and some are not properly put into law.
We must-as much as humanly possible-not think that those who hold views that are different from ours are bad people. When we hold a position that is close to our heart, we easily slip into thinking that those who hold opposite views are stupid or evil.
There is an old saying, “Don’t let the perfect hinder the good.” We are imperfect people and we live in an imperfect world. If we wait for perfection, we will wait until the end of time.
We, our world, and our universe are God’s creation. God is patient and subtle. He seems to wait patiently for the perfection that will come to the universe. That is the state we call heaven.
